Design & Conception
Trained between America, France, and Italy, she began her career in Paris as a fashion designer and pattern maker for prestigious fashion houses such as Balmain, Sonia Rykiel and Ingorokva. Her arrival in Italy, on Elba Island, marked a decisive turning point: inspired by the sea, travel, and the Mediterranean art of living, she founded VISTAMARE, a brand that celebrates essential elegance, color, and emotion. At VISTAMAREBAGS, Julia serves as both the founder and the designer of the brand. She is responsible for the creative development of each collection, designing every product from concept to final prototype.In addition to the design process, Julia personally handcrafts each piece, ensuring direct oversight of production quality and maintaining a high level of craftsmanship throughout the manufacturing process.
Materials
The brand prioritizes the use of materials that are free from phthalates and continuously evaluates new recycled alternatives in order to reduce the environmental impact of its products. Material sourcing therefore represents an ongoing area of research and development. To enhance product durability and longevity, VISTAMAREBAGS incorporates materials originally developed for the marine industry. These materials are specifically designed to withstand demanding environmental conditions, including exposure to moisture, UV radiation, and mechanical stress.By leveraging the technical performance standards of the nautical sector, the brand aims to improve the robustness, lifespan, and overall reliability of its products, thereby contributing to a more sustainable consumption model through extended product use.
Process
Every bag begins with you and your vision. In addition to the designs available on our website, you can personalize your bag by choosing the fabrics and colors that make it uniquely yours.Once your order is placed, Julia takes care of every step of the process by hand: cutting the fabric, adding the lining, sewing each piece together, and carefully perfecting every detail. Even the logo is individually embossed by hand.Finally, Julia packages your bag in a reusable fabric wrap that she also sews herself, avoiding the use of plastic tape, before sending your order on its way.As you can see, every VISTAMAREBAGS creation is truly handmade from A to Z.
